Prayer is important to most of us. Most would agree that prayer should be held in high regard. We cannot just talk about prayer; we actually have to do it. Next weekend we have our Stewardship of Prayer commitment weekend. Please take some time this week to think about what might be added to our daily routine and what would have to “go” to make room for the time necessary to do it. Notice we have to sacrifice something to make room. Letting go of something assures that we are not overloading ourselves. A sure plan for disaster is to be unrealistic and nothing happens because of overload. A prayer routine leads to a prayer life. We are in this for the long haul. Now is the time to give adequate thought to what needs to be a priority in our lives. If God is really first in our lives, then we need to prove it by spending time in prayer with God. Making a decision like that will change our lives forever. Think about it!
Alpha is coming! I have decided to walk along with Alpha this year and I’m hoping others will too. The first meeting is Thursday, September 7, starting with a simple meal at 6:30 pm. Alpha runs for 10 weeks so the time commitment is manageable. Do something for your faith. Make the time. Join us for Alpha.
Sincerely in Christ,
Very Reverend Andrew Kemberling, V.F.
