Confirmation is the sacrament whereby God completes the graces of a person’s baptism and deepens His seal within them, marking them as belonging to Him (2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13-14). When received within a life of faith, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit through confirmation empowers us to live the Christian life. It is not a person’s “adult choice to be Catholic”, rather it is God who chooses us, and we can then choose Him day by day.
Under the guidance of our Archbishop, all churches in the Archdiocese of Denver are restoring the Sacraments of Initiation to their original order, that is, first Baptism, second Confirmation, and third Eucharist. As a result, First Reconciliation occurs in second grade, while Confirmation and First Communion are received together in the same mass in third grade.
At St. Vincent de Paul, we have an 18-month program for 2nd and 3rd grade students to prepare for First Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Communion. To register or to learn more about the program, click the link below, or email Kolbe at [email protected].

Adults who have not been baptized receive the sacrament of Confirmation through a process called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).
Adults who were baptized into another Christian denomination or were baptized Catholic and have not received the sacrament of Confirmation are invited to an adapted form of the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)
Visit our OCIA page through the button below for more information.
